How Often do you use CPAP?

Recent studies have shown that some people give up with CPAP, often due to reasons such as lack of follow-up and little patient education. However, using CPAP provides long term benefit and it only works if you use it properly.

What do you guys think? Have you tried CPAP and has it worked for you? I am interested in your replies.

Do You Suffer from Snoring Problems?

Do you suffer from snoring at night or does your partner complain about it? The solution is to use a CPAP machine to solve these problems. You're not alone...there are millions out there who are suffering from this problem. With CPAP, you can minimize the effect on your life.

Do You Have Sleep Apnoea?

Most people ignore the fact that sleep apnoea is having a large impact on their lives, not only on their work but also their leisure activities such as crossword puzzles, driving, or even sport activities. The problem with sleep apnoea is that people subconsciously wake up many times over the night as their airway becomes obstructed. It reduces normal daily functioning and can increase the risk of high blood pressure, strokes and heart attacks.

If you have snoring problems, don't wait before these things affect you. Act immediately and get to your doctor to discuss your concerns. Weight loss is one of the main things to reduce the effects of sleep apnoea, but there are also many other treatments such as CPAP devices that can help improve your quality of sleep.

The Differences between CPAP and BiPAP Machines

Continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) and Bi-level Positive Airway Pressure (BiPAP) machines help to treat respiratory diseases. A lot of people think they are the same but in fact they serve completely different purposes. BiPAP machines deliver two different levels of pressure: higher pressure when the user breaths in, and lower pressure when the user breaths out. CPAP machines only has one set level of air pressure at any one time.

Since you can adjust the two different levels of pressure on a BiPAP machine, the user does not have to exhale against the added pressure, which can be quite tiring. With CPAP machines, it takes more effort for the person to breath in and out. The BiPAP machine is a more recent development.

The main use for CPAP machines are for those with sleep apnoea or snoring problems; whereas BiPAP is used for those with disorders like chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

I hope that this helps to clarify issues about these two different machines. Any questions please feel free to contact me :)
